Hola!

I’m Michael Ameyaw, an industrial designer based in Toronto. I’ve been designing since I was young, across sketching, 3D, motion and physical products, and the thread through all of it has been telling stories through motion.

drawn to advancing technology through hands-on hardware improvements. I love the work that can’t be prompted: a hinge that lasts, a part that fits just right, a product that feels good in someone’s hand. Thoughtful, human-made design is what makes technology more empathetic, and that’s the kind of work I want to do. It’s also why I build and tinker with my own PC: I like knowing how things are put together, and why they fail.

I studied industrial design at Humber Polytechnic. Since then I’ve designed enclosures for portable electronic devices, taking them from first sketch to production-ready CAD. I also designed broadcast graphics and operator tools for a live sports startup, working with clients like LIV Golf, IndyCar and NHRA. I work in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Rhino, Blender and KeyShot, and bring my designs to life with motion in After Effects and Rive.
